Tactical Sandbox Engine: Expanding Possibilities
Our latest update brings significant enhancements to create even more diverse and engaging tactical experiences. From classic chess variants to modern warfare simulations, these new features add depth and strategic complexity to the games you can create with the engine.
New Tactical Elements
Walls System
We've introduced a dynamic wall system that adds new layers of tactical decision-making. When designing your game, you can now:
- Customize wall health points
- Choose different wall types
- Force players to navigate around or break through obstacles
- Create complex maze-like battlefields
Environmental Effects
The battlefield comes alive with six new environment types that affect unit behavior and movement. These environments can simply be added to the tile in sandbox mode :
- Snow: Reduces movement points, creating challenging terrain to traverse
- Heal/Repair: Units recover +1 HP per turn while on these tiles
- Poison: Deals +1 damage per turn to occupying units
- Ammo: Replenishes units' special abilities
- Nuke: Creates impassable irradiated zones
- ION: EMP effect reduces action points of units in the area
Enhanced Creation Tools
Revamped Sandbox Builder
- Streamlined unit placement interface
- Real-time stat editing capabilities
- Board loading system so you can load creations done by the community. This design changed made it allot easier to quickly jump into a game.
Visual Improvements
One of my favorite design changes is an overall of the lighting system. Bringing in more dynamic lights that gives greater depth and visual fidelity to units, enhancing the overall battlefield atmosphere. This update marks a significant step in both functionality and aesthetics, providing creators with more tools to bring their tactical visions to life.
